Lavender 'Queen' is a real showpiece — a taller, more statuesque grower with rich, silvery foliage and generous spikes of mauve-purple flowers held high above the plant. Thriving in Bayside: As with all our lavenders, 'Queen' is built for exactly the conditions we get around Sandringham — full sun, sandy, free-draining soil and long, dry summers. It's a resilient, wind-tolerant plant, which makes it a great option if your garden catches a bit of that bay breeze, and once it's established you can largely leave it to its own devices between waterings. A firm prune after flowering keeps it from getting leggy and rewards you with a fuller, more floriferous plant the following season.
